Burger Waussie’s Lost Bun

I’m Burger Waussie
Had a lovely race –
Oops! I slopped the ketchup
Right across my face!

After putting his bun down on a ‘rock’ (which is actually a tortoise) and falling asleep, Burger Waussie discovers that his bun is missing. I’m cold without my bun, he thinks. Hot Dog Waussie shares his bun. “There’s plenty of room for two,” he says. The Waussies, together with Spike, join in the search.

Boomerang Waussie offers him a banana skin to keep him warm, Tennis Racquet Waussie offers him some lettuce, Ant offers him a piece of bread with “only a few little bites missing” and Spike offers him a drink of ketchup. But Burger Waussie only wants his bun, saying “thank you” for their kind offers.

Suddenly, Burger Waussie jumps out of Hot Dog Waussie’s bun, when he thinks a ball flying through the air is his missing bun. The ball knocks him out and Boomerang Waussie carries him to a safer place on the field. Mr. Tortoise arrives announcing, “Anyone know who owns this bun? It’s slopping ketchup all over my house.” Burger Waussie is happy again, back inside his bun - especially as “no-one has taken a bite out of it.”
